Generally the hills people are treated as Schedule Tribes whereas the valley people are treated as general category Meiteis, but since both the communities are closely related since long and have many similarities in their culture and lifestyle, the Indian Constitution should grant the Schedule Tribe status to the Sanamahi followers so that they could get all the benefits of development and uplifment by getting categorised as a Schedule Tribe community.
