One suspected UG cadre has  been slain in a reported encounter with a combined security team at Angangching  under Kakching police station in Thoubal district today.
According to a  press release issued by SP Thoubal Clay Khongsai, the encounter ensued when a  combined force of Thoubal police commandos and troops of 21 AR, acting on  specific information about movement of KYKL cadres along Kakching-Tezpur area,  moved in there.
From 10 am today, the combined force conducted frisking  and checking along the road.
At about 10.30 am, the security team asked  two/three youths who were reportedly moving in suspicious manner near  Angangching to halt.
But they opened fire towards the security and tried  to make their escape good.
The combined force retaliated killing one of  them.
The other UG suspects managed to flee, informed the SP.
On  searching the area after the shoot-out, one Norinco pistol and five live rounds  were recovered.
On the other hand, the three UG suspects slain in two  separate encounters yesterday have been identified.
The two PLA cadres  killed in a reported shoot-out with Thoubal police commandos near Keirak Buffalo  Farm yesterday afternoon have been identified as Thingujam Jiten alias Khumancha  (30) s/o Yaima of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai and Laishram Boyai alias Toni (27) s/o  late Shyamkesho of Sekmaijin Khoidum.
Khumancha was Sergeant Major of the  PLA.
According to family members, both Khumancha and Toni were pulled up  by some unidentified persons from Leishangthem Kelli Makhong last  morning.
The identity of the individual shot dead by a combined force of  Imphal West commandos and troops of 32 AR at Samurou Awang Leikai at about 8.30  last night has also been established.
He was one Md Iliaz Khan (19) s/o  Abdul Helim of Yairipok Tulihal.
He left home last morning and  arrangements for his wedding have also been made, said family members.
