IMPHAL, Mar 25 : To Promote sericulture in the state like Manipur and to bring Manipur a industrialization state sericulture will be the most biggest scope stressed Prof. Dr. C. Amuba, V.C. of MU today here on the inaugural function of Three Day Training Programme on Sericulture for Socio-Economic Development in North East India.
The three days long training programme is organised by North East Institute of Science and Technology in collaboration of IICT Hyderabad. And was attended by Prof. C. Amuba, Dr, USN Murty scientist G, IICT, Hyderabad as chief guest and president respectively.
Further the V.C. maintained that if the sericulture is one work properly that it is sure that ti will provide employment generation and it also can generate economic.
And silk being available widely in many varieties at very high quality it need to be expose and to industrialize it, But we didn’t expand, explore and transformed it.
However, he sadly felt that the sericulture industries which state government has promise to grow and tide up with Japanese technology is going to be complete. And he have no idea of the progress underwent so far.
He also maintained that people of Manipur have lots of skill in this field and therefore, farmers and local people should expose their techniques.
