Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Friday morning called up his Manipur counterpart Okram Ibobi Singh and asked him to check attacks on Biharis, especially the labourers, in that state.
He expressed his deep concern and anguish over the recent attacks on labourers from Bihar and West Bengal by militants in Manipur and requested him to bring it to an end.
The chief minister directed the chief secretary of Bihar R J M Pillai and DGP D N Gautam to depute a high- level officer to facilitate return of those Bihari labourers who intend to come back. He also asked them to co-ordinate with their counterparts in Manipur.
