Ultimatum to CM on CDO, IRB hill posting

Imphal, July 7: A Joint Ultimatum has been submitted to chief minister of Manipur today to reconsider the Cabinet decision on deployment of Police Commandos and IRBs in the 5 (five) Hill Districts of Manipur.

The Federating Units of the ATSUM is aggrieved and compelled to issue the Joint ultimatum against the Cabinet decision without due consultation and in contravention to the wishes of the hill people.

The ultimatum further added that when there is no apparent law and order problems in the hill district of Manipur, deployment of Additional Security forces like IRBs and Police Commandos is seen as a direct confrontation to the interest of the Hill people. The cabinet decision without any rationality and justification whatsoever has been stiffly opposed by the people of the five Hill District for early revocation of the same.

It further reminded to revoke the cabinet decision on or before 18th July 2009 failing which the Federation Units of ATSUM will be compelled to resort to any kind of Democratic agitation to realise their rightful demand if the cabinet decision is not revoke within mid-night of 18th July 2009 the units said to prepared to accept and take responsibility on whatever decision they take and any action they initiated after that.
