Dimapur, Feb 18 : Brigadier Harish Thukral, Commander 10 Sector of HQ IGAR (South) visited the site of construction of the Community Building coming up in Ukhrul town on 17 February 2010. The Community Building is being built by Assam Rifles under its Military Civic Action programme to commemorate the 175th Raising Day of Assam Rifles, informed a press note issued by PRO IGAR South. The construction of the building is likely to get completed by March this year as the construction has started in full swing and would be a pleasant gift to the people of Ukhrul on the occasion of the 175th Raising Day of Assam Rifles on 24 March 2010, the note stated.
Brig Harish Thukral reviewed the progress of work and interacted with office bearers of Tangkhul Naga Long with respect to the construction activity of the building during his visit. Stephen Ankhang, president of TNL thanked the Assam Rifles for the generosity and support and reiterated that the construction of the Community Building will fulfill the aspirations of the local people and will help in motivating the locals for development and constructive activities within the region, the press note stated.
