Pharmacies closed down in Manipur

Most of the pharmacies in Manipur were closed down today to protest the attack by suspected militants on those transporting medicines.
The Manipur Chemists and Druggists Association (MCDA) had taken the decision to close down the pharmacies after an underground outfit unloaded Life Saving Drugs from a transporter on February 10 at Senapati district demanding money.
Fearing disruption by militants some of the important pharmaceutical companies are reluctant to do business in the state.
