Jan 23In Jammu and Kashmir, a self-styled tehsil commander of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and another militant was shot dead by army troops in Doda district on Friday. Defence spokesperson said, acting on an information about the presence of some militants in Batyas forest belt of Gandoh tehsil, security forces launched a cordon and search operation on Friday morning.
In the gun battle that followed, two Hizb militants were 0killed. They have been identified as Zahoor Khanday, a self styled tehsil commander of Hizb operating in Doda since 2006, and Sajad Hussain, active since 2006, he said.
Two AK rifles and other ammunition was recovered from them.
