Imphal, Feb 21 : Wife of the slain Sub-Divisional Officer Th Kishan, Romita today urged the Manipur government to start criminal proceedings against Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP) of Ukhrul district in connection with the brutal killing of her husband by suspected hill-based militants.
In a press statement here, Romita also asked the authorities to use the ex-gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh provided to her in finding out the culprits who kidnapped and bludgeoned to death Kishan and his two subordinate staff members on February 17 in Senapati district.
Ukhrul district DC, Pankaj Kumar, and SP, A Dorji, has been suspended from services for "negligence" of duties, officials said.
Th Kishan, was SDO in Ukhrul district and his body was found at a place in nearby Senapati district.
She alleged that DC was involved in the killings as the official meeting on February 13, the day Kishan and two others were kidnapped from the gate of DC's office by suspected militants, was called by the deputy commissioner himself.
Kishan, his driver A Rajen and an official Y Token were kidnapped minutes after the meeting, official sources said.
